The United States needs to start prioritizing the value of human life over the value of a paycheck. The United States needs to put an end to the pointless wars in the Middle East that have done nothing but destabilize the region. In addition, the United States needs to stop providing support to nations that have contributed to this. The US must cease supporting nations like Israel and Saudi Arabia militarily. This must take place first and foremost in the form of ending weapons sales. US weapons sales perpetuate proxy conflict in unstable Middle Eastern states such as Yemen. Without US assistance it would be nearly impossible for nations like Saudi Arabia to stage the attacks they currently do. If the United States wants to play any role in the security of the Middle East as opposed to the destruction of it as they currently do it is vital that the United States’ government fiercely regulate these weapons sales and withdraw from the Middle East. The United States needs to actively seek more diplomatic relations with the rest of the world to redeem itself on the international stage. The United States has been perpetually involved in both cold and hot wars throughout the world, many of them meant to advance capitalist sentiments. The United States has repeatedly used military means to remove governments that stand in the way of their economic interests and it is necessary that the government makes definitive action to put an end to this practice.
